Stop Caterpillar Bulldozer Sales to Israeli Army

Hold Caterpillar accountable for the criminal use of its products by the Israeli army.

Israel has used Caterpillar bulldozers to demolish more than 12,000 Palestinian homes; to uproot 385,000 Palestinian olive trees; to kill Rachel Corrie, an American peace activist, as she nonviolently tried to prevent the razing of a Palestinian home; and to build a 25-foot-high wall and fence that will confiscate about 40 percent of the territory of the West Bank. In Rafah in May 2004 alone, Israel bulldozed the homes of thousands of Palestinians.
Urge the Caterpillar board of directors to stop selling bulldozers to Israel.

The demolition of Palestinian orchards and houses, as well as the killing and maiming of peaceful demonstrators, using Caterpillar bulldozers, has been widespread and known throughout the world. 

Because you are on the Board of Directors of the Caterpillar Corporation, I am contacting you to ask that Caterpillar stop selling bulldozers to the Israeli army. 

Contrary to international legal standards, the razing of Palestinian housing has left fifty thousand people without homes. Amnesty International has condemned the Israeli armed forces' destruction of Palestinian homes as "[an] act of collective punishment and a grave breach of international humanitarian law." 

It's not just Palestinians who are being assaulted by Caterpillar bulldozers. People throughout the whole world were shocked by images of a Caterpillar bulldozer killing Rachel Corrie in March of 2003. 

Grave crimes against civilians should not be associated with Caterpillar. In the awareness that Caterpillar equipment is being used in defiance of international law, it is reprehensible for the Caterpillar Corporation to sell any more equipment to Israeli authorities. I demand, with due respect, that the corporation promptly put an end to the sale of these machines to Israeli authorities.
