Don't Attack Iraq; Work Through the U.N.

The Bush Administration has obtained from Congress nearly unlimited authority to wage war against Iraq. The Bush war resolution passed in October, 2002 by smaller margins than anticipated, and now many members of Congress are calling for a new debate. Urge Congress to slow the rush to war, before it's too late.

      Because you are a leading figure in Congress, you are duty-bound to all of America, and to the people of the world, to guarantee that U.S. activities further the general good. I request that you vote to rescind the war authorization against Iraq. 
      The Congress should have encouraged the Administration to pursue its goals via the United Nations to assure Iraq's implementation of its requirements to the United Nations. Should the U.S. choose to take action unilaterally, or take action with a few allies, it could very well harm the United Nations, the rule of international law, international cooperation, and indeed, all efforts to combat terrorism. 
      The Administration's bill regarding Iraq is unreasonable because of various concerns, and it is atrocious that the national legislature assented to it without substantive changes.
