 July date to be determined: Meet the team and help plan the event at the next (and possibly final) organizing meeting (PRIORITY)
        Location (Berkeley/North Oakland) and details will be provided.

 Post flyers around the Bay Area (PRIORITY)
        I will download [PDF, 290KB], print, and post flyers (to help recruit volunteers and get the planning going; PDF available here) (how many? )

 Work in the office weekly or every two weeks, minimum 2-hour shift (clerical, phoning, mailing, etc.)

 Make lantern shades and bring to the 2016 event (simple folding and taping instructions: click here)
         I will make and bring blank shades to the 2016 event.

 July 14, 2016: Join our work party to inventory supplies and do crafting (assembling photo greeting cards, etc.)

 Help upgrade our Web presence: make these pages mobile-friendly, add a great photo gallery (PRIORITY)

 Help with the permitting process: help prepare documents, interact with City officials

Help with transportation for the 2016 event (check any for which you are available):
       Before Fri., Aug. 5, 2016, help with supply runs: picking up materials we’ll need for the event.
       Fri., Aug. 5, 2016, 4:30–5 p.m., help load chairs into truck.
       Sat., Aug. 6, 2016, 2–2:45 p.m., help load tables, chairs, supplies into truck and cars.
       Sat., Aug. 6, 2016, ~3–3:30 p.m., help unload truck and cars at Aquatic Park.
       Sat., Aug. 6, 2016, 9:00–10:30 p.m., help load truck and cars at the park, and unload at storage.
       Sun., Aug. 7, 2016, help take down signs, clean up site, clean lantern bases, put items into storage.
       Mon., Aug. 8, 2016, help unload chairs, returning them to the organization(s) that lent them to us.
       I have a truck, van, or SUV.

Volunteer at the 2016 event:
       4:00–5:30 p.m., help put up signs in Aquatic Park and at key intersections in Berkeley.
       3:30–6:30 p.m. (or any part of that time), set-up at the site, including assembling lanterns.
 
       5–10 p.m. (ONE HOUR during that time): traffic control: staff the entrance to the parking lot or other traffic-control points
              Indicate preferred shift:

       4–9 p.m. (or any part of that time), during event: help in a rowboat with setup, guiding and retrieving lanterns. (I can bring my own boat.)
       6–9 p.m. (or any part of that time), during event: greet guests at welcome table.
       6:15–9 p.m. (or any part of that time), during event: assist with lantern-decorating tables.
       6:45–9 p.m. (or any part of that time), during event: assemble and launch lanterns.
       9–10 p.m., disassemble lanterns, pack up/clean up site.

 Aug. 7–20, 2016:  Perform data entry (PRIORITY)
        Add names/e-mails to the Lantern Ceremony contact list from attendee sign-up sheets

 Coordinate an area at the event:
        If you have leadership experience, especially overseeing volunteers, we need you!
        (Example: oversee assembly and launching of lanterns. Fast-paced, exciting, busy.)

 Donate/lend supplies for the event (PRIORITY: tables and chairs)
        Some of the items needed: folding tables, folding chairs, blunt-nosed scissors,
        tape, string, crayons, non-toxic markers, self-powered lamps

 Teach origami crane folding at the event
