KEN FORD HAS QUIT THE PACIFICA BOARD. We learned of this through several clues throughout the day, culminating in this (poorly-typed) page on the Pacifica Foundation Web site: http://www.pacifica.org/info/releases/kenford.html Other confirmation includes statements from Ford to former WBAI producer Errol Maitland, from his boss Jerry Howard at the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB), from other NAHB personnel, and reportedly from Pacifica national board chair Bob Farrell. We're ceasing all Letters to the Editor and letters to the National Association of Homebuilders regarding Ken Ford. The news that Ford had quit began to surface just two hours after our letters-to-the-editor drive was announced on Nov. 1(although his resignation is said to be effective Oct. 31). Your continuing vigilance, including writing letters through Progressive Portal, has been crucial to this success. We expect to soon announce a new campaign against another member of the ruling clique that has hijacked Pacifica. All the different Pacifica groups, let alone other vital causes, are asking your financial as well as volunteer support. Progressive Portal does not have any big financial backers.
